Welcome To My World….Where the Paranormal and Magick Merge

August 11, 2007 | Uncategorized

Here is an idea of my “literary world”, the basis for my series…

This is a world where ghosts are everywhere and modern science has confirmed and documented them. Federally licensed Envisioners, are dispatched to help private citizens and governments alike send the spirits who have stayed behind to the Otherworld, aka, Heaven, Hell, or etc. Not only are ghosts and spirits real, but so are demons, entities of unknown orgins, and the fey.

This is a world where The United States of America’s governement recognizes the paranormal and requires Envisioners to hold a federal license (In most cases Envisioners become federal agents, known as a Magickal Marshall) and a college degree to use magick. Its a world where magick is welcomed and taught in colleges and universities, a world where you carry a wand for self defense and to start your car if you forget your key.

In this world, Druids, witches, and wizards must be college educated, and most with advanced degrees hold positions of power in the government, law, medicine, business, and science. This is a world where religions merge and help one another….like Celtic gods working with the archangels and God to help fight evil . And the best part….a world where the Faery world, and interrealm travel are real. If you are educated and licensed to use magick, you can see your neighbors protective ward’s glowing around their houses as you drive through your neighborhood…..welcome to my imagination and world….one I write about and would love to share with you. Welcome to the world of Envisionment…

I hope you love it and feel welcome….

Slainte!

Blarney Castle and TowerKissing The Blarney Stonealt=”Blarney Castle”>Looking down from the top of Blarney CastleBlarney Castle Tower

These pictures were taken Saturday Oct 14, 2006 at Blarney Castle. This is a beautiful castle and grounds. October in Ireland was pleasant and it only rained on our last day. To kiss the Blarney Stone and recieve the gift of “gab”, you have to lay down and lean backwards. No easy feat since the stone is at the top of the castle. Just a word of warning….you have a lot of castle stairs to climb!!!

Scene place: Virginia Beach

Scene time: August

Slate headed over to Sydney, his long ebony hair swinging with each step. His dark eyes focused on her. If she hadn’t known him, she would have been afraid. More than six feet of solid Highland muscle, carrying a Claymore across his back and a sgian dubh on his calf caught her attention as he approached.

Despite his lack of wearing a kilt, his exotic looks and Celtic armband tattoo hypnotized her. Sydney admired his warrior like masculinity, and if she hadn’t cared for Ashton, she would have flirted with Slate. In the hot humid August air, Sydney eyed Slate from head to toe. Sucking in a breath of hot air, she shook her head in denial such a Highland warrior lived and worked in coastal Virginia as a paranormal lawyer. Her mind betrayed her as she fantasized about an intimate encounter with him. In her imagination, Sydney was locked into a half naked intimate embrace with him, which caused a heated blush to singe her cheeks. Fearful she hadn’t shielded her thoughts, she pushed her fantasies out of her mind before Slate or Ashton tapped into her mind telepathically. If either one of the men had seen her fantasy, they would never let her live it down. And if Ashton had knew she fantasized about Slate, he would be heartbroken. Still, both men were so ‘hot’ she couldn’t resist.

Hot stagnant air formed beads of perspiration on her brow as Sydney watched Mr. Protection, aka Slate, approach. She wasn’t sure what he wanted, but she knew it must be important if he wanted to speak with her alone. Why hadn’t he used telepathy if what he had to say was so important? Slate stopped inches from Sydney, waves of power rolled off him, alerting her of his magickal power as he commanded her attention. He reached out and grabbed her elbow. Sydney raised her face to him, but despite avoiding his dark eyes, she felt him try to penetrate her mind.  He was searching for signs of weakness or fear within her. Slate would want to know what her fear was so he could neutralize it with magick once they reached the Smith’s property.

“Lass, you do know I won’t let him hurt you.”

Slate would protect Sydney with his life. The two of them were now bonded by blood and magick for eternity. She would never be able to escape him, nor did she want too. What affected Sydney, affected Slate, and what harmed him, harmed her. There was no way to break the bond, and she felt safe for once in her life. There was one catch though, Ashton also shared the bond. The three of them were linked magickally whether Sydney liked it or not.  Sydney tilted her head and meeting Slate’s soul searching gaze.

“I know, Slate. I know you’ll never let anything happen to me.”

Slate pushed his long hair out of his face.

“‘Tis more than you think, we are bound together, sworn to protect each other. What influences or hurts you, hurts all of us who are bound together, especially Ashton.”

“Oh.” Sydney did not realize the magickal bond between the three of them actually included other members who scattered through Ireland and Scotland.

Slate began circling Sydney, and shot her a smoldering look. His smile revealed cardinal intent. If only you were mine, he mentally projected to Sydney. She felt weak from his searing gaze. Slate held Sydney’s attention as he settled in front of her. Despite her attempt to lock her mind, he opened a link only the two of them could access. If you didn’t belong to Ash, I’d show you pleasure you could never imagine.

Shocked at Slate’s admission, her jaw dropped and she jerked her head up. Sydney closed her jaw and it dropped again. She knew he had made his confession through blocked telepathy so only she could hear it. Was she really what Slate wanted? Did he just say what she thought he did?

      ”W-what?” she stammered.

A half devilish grin spread across Slate’s dark angelic face as he leaned so close to her she could smell him. He smelled of leather and man, a rich pure masculine scent, unlike Ashton who always smelled of sandalwood. Slate glanced up now hiding behind his long jet black hair which formed a shield between the Envisioner team’s SUV’s and them. He was so close his lips brushed hers. Not sure what to do, Sydney tried to step back, but his firm grip held her in place.

“I respect Ash and would never betray him. I consider him my brother. But if he didn’t love you, you would be mine.” he whispered. His warm breath caressing her skin, promising pleasure.

Slate’s eyes locked onto hers. Her heart fluttered, and she couldn’t deny the attraction. What the hell was happening? This was Ashton’s best friend for God’s sake.

”Lass, we are bound to each other. There is no way around it. We can not fight the passion, our bodies call to each other as does our magick.”

Sydney’s lips suddenly dried and she licked them. Slate took her action as an invitation and slanted his mouth over hers. He parted her lips with this thumb. Slate’s warm tongue penetrated Sydney’s mouth, causing her to moan. Passion stirred within her, wetting her panties, and deepening the throbbing between her thighs. She had never been so deeply or expertly kissed. Slate released her, his hair still hiding their kiss. He broke their kiss by slowly seductively running his tongue across her lower lip, then pulled its plump wetness into his mouth.

Sydney’s shaky knees almost caused her to drop, Slate grabbed her, smashing her breasts against his chest, her nipples tightening. He moaned at the feel of her erect nipples against him and leaned down to kiss her one last time. Sydney found the strength to face his heated gaze with a questioning look.

    “W-why?” she moaned.

”You’re bonded to me.” His Scots burr thick with passion.

Sydney shook her head. “But it’s magickal. What gives you the right-”

“The right to kiss a beautiful lass? The right to bed you if I desire?”

“Y-yeah. I’m not you’re property, Slate.” Sydney reminded him.

The corner of Slate’s mouth curved into a grin.

“Lassie, I’m a Druid, we share all. If Ashton hadn’t confessed his love for you, and you him, despite your reservations, I would make claim for you.”

Sydney searched Slate’s emotions through his facial expressions.

“How do you know about us? How do you know about my reservations with Ashton?”

Slate slowly grinned, stood taller, and pulled his hair back so the team could now see them. He was done with his taste of Sydney.

”Because I know Ash, and I know you. Ashton loves with his whole heart, as do you. I will not interfere with his love, but according to our code, I have every right to taste you.” He watched Sydney’s reaction. “Don’t worry. I will honor both Ashton’s and your wishes. I will never betray the two of you.”

Sydney nodded, wanting his promise. “You promise?”

“Aye, I do, but if you ever separate, I have first choice.” He stood tall as if he had won a major victory.

     “First choice?”

Sydney was confused and her expressions revealed her feelings.

“Aye, the oath requires your mate can only be a fellow member.” He explained.

Sydney thought about it for a brief moment, rage filling her.

“Are you trying to tell me I can only have a relationship with a man who also shares the oath?”

Her eyes widened with shock. This deal was getting worse and worse.

“Aye, lass, to be more specific, you can only mate with one of us.”

Sydney wanted nothing better than to wipe the smirk off his gorgeous face. He had to be kidding. This was like an arranged marriage. Shit. What had she gotten herself into?

“Mate with one of you? Are you frigging nuts?” her voice grew louder with each word.

     Slate weighed each word carefully.

“Aye, you must mate with one of the order members. You have the option to mate with one of us, or marry one of us. You can not marry outside of the magickal circle.” He explained.

With her hands on her hips, and an angry glare on her face Sydney tried to count to ten to calm herself, but it didn’t work. Her anger was beyond control.

“What if I don’t choose someone from the order?” she snapped.

Slate seized her up, matching her stance by putting his hands on his hips. He sighed before his answer because he knew she wasn’t going to like it.

“If you do not choose one of us, you have two choices.”

“And those are?” she shot back.

“You will be without a mate and be alone-”

     “Or?” she demanded.

    “Or you die.” Slate whispered.

Sydney stood quietly balling her fists. This was outrageous. When had sex and love become part of the blood oath to the secret Druid and Fey society? The deal was getting worse with each passing day.
