These pictures were taken Saturday Oct 14, 2006 at Blarney Castle. This is a beautiful castle and grounds. October in Ireland was pleasant and it only rained on our last day. To kiss the Blarney Stone and recieve the gift of “gab”, you have to lay down and lean backwards. No easy feat since the stone is at the top of the castle. Just a word of warning….you have a lot of castle stairs to climb!!!

here’s one great spot I think you’d also be glad to visit!

    DUBLIN CASTLE

Originally built in the 13th century on a site
previously settled by the Vikings it functioned as a
military fortress, a prison, treasury, courts of law
and the seat of English Administration in Ireland for
    700 years.

My husband and I are both 72 and we climbed to the top of Blarney Castle three weeks ago. I also kissed the Blarney Stone and believe me, kissing the stone was a lot easier than climbing those stairs!
